Three young heads bursting with new ideas. Six strong hands steeped in the traditions of English Ceilidh and so far beyond. Pigeon English draw the strands of their many influences together to bring something new and exciting in ceilidh dancing.
Ben Moss, talented singer and multi-instrumentalist, is one of the country’s leading young folk dancers and callers. Dancing morris since 10, Ben has performed with Great Western, Seven Champions Molly Dancers and Hammersmith Morris Men – and is also a dance graduate of Trinity Laban!
Tom Fairbairn has been honing his craft playing dance music for over 15 years, with bands as diverse as Fosbrooks, Whapweasel and Boka Halat. A dynamic fiddle player (both large and small!) and arranger, Tom has been striving to respect tradition but develop it in giant steps as well as small increments!
Sam McEvoy, one of the most exciting multi-percussionists working in the UK today, has been playing on the English scene as part of MoonDance and Pigeon English alongside his regular work with original bands and artists such as Penniless Cove and Cable Street Collective. Obsessed with traditional music from his home of Shetland, and beyond, his grooves will make you move!
